The Lore of Aranna The Lore of Aranna Return to the Act III Secondary Quests Index Area Find the Lore of Aranna Collection and Return to Telgrey the Scholar

Initiating the Quest

Telgrey the ScholarThis is one of the most difficult secondary quests to complete in that your party has to wander all over Aranna during Act I, Chapter 6 (Leaving Greilyn Isle) through Act III Chapter 2 (The Morden Chief) to find all of them and the game doesn't tell you how many there are, their titles, nor give any clues as to where they may be found, unlike in most of the other quests. Further, you will likely come across quite a number of them, with no idea of their intended use in a secondary quest, before actually acquiring the quest, sometime after entering access to Kalrathia at the start of Act III. However almost half of them are located in the town of Aman'lu. Telgrey can be found in a room in the northeast corner of Kalrathia. If you're not already in Kalrathia, teleport there. Proced down the northeastern stairway and skirt the fountain to the northeast. Ascend the stairs near the East Gate and go north into his room. Talk to him about the Lore of Aranna and he'll ask them to find the complete set of twenty volumes.

An inscription on the Inner flap reads, "Lore of Aranna, volume 1."" - You can not acquire this volume until Act II, Chapter 7 (The Siege of Snowbrook Haven) has been initiated. Your party can pick this volume up during the primary quest, but it's fairly easily missable. Teleport from Aman'lu to the Eastern Face of Snowbrook Mountain and head west down the hill and take out whatever enemies await your party, probably including a battle with a Hardened Snow Va'arth Barbarian, then on past the Health Shrine to the Snowbrook Haven Servant's Quarters and proceed inside. Turn north when they have to and open the door ahead if it's your party's first time through the area. Continue into a large room with lots of columns. Head for the circular fireplace in the back at the north end. Head through the door to the east and pass through the room with some low benches. Head up the stairs and then turn south. Go through the doorway and turn west. Head across the upwardly curving ramp into the room across on the other side of the large room and pick up the "Kings and Queens of the Northern Reaches" volume from the floor.

The path soon splits. They'll pass a mana shrine if they take the south path to the entrance to the Sanctuary. Enter (if they're coming through as part of the primary quest, this heralds the opening of Act II, Chapter 5 (The Vai'kesh and the Aegis of Death)) and head east down the stairs to find a table with burning candles atop it plus skeletons littering the floor beneath it in the first room. Exit through the opening to the east and head down the curved stairway into the next room, which contains a war pedestal. Head through the door to the east and proceed down the curved stairway and pick up the book on a table on a landing to the east.
