Note that this quest can not be undertaken until Act I, Chapter 10 (The Temple of Xeria) has been initiated. You can initiate this quest simply by picking up a Green Life Stone from the Green Life Stone Pile in the Temple of Xeria, but in order to fully complete this quest... Head north from the Eirulan teleporter to the to the next tramway, which takes your party to the Inn. Board the tram and take it across to the other side and head south once on the circular walkway. Inn. Enter the Inn and speak with the Grizzled Bar Patron, who's seated on a stool in front of the bar, and being served by Proprietress Dushi. Continue choosing conversational response #1 to have him tell the whole story, to initiate this quest. If you don't want to hear the whole story, just click on response #1 each time a conversational segment is begun to skip that segment, then again to start the next segment. Do so until you see that the quest has been initiated.

Teleport to the Temple of Xeria from any Act I teleporter (note that it's the last teleporter location available from the Eirulan teleporter). Once there, head north down the steps, then turn west and walk up the long flight of stairs. Walk out to the large statue of Xeria, then turn south. Continue forward until descending into a room with a Green Life Stone Socket and a Yellow Sight Stone Socket. Head down the stairs toward the Green Life Stone Socket, then turn to the east and head up the stairs. Head south toward the Green Life Stone Pile. Pick up three green stones from the pile, then return back down into the lower section of the room and left click on the Green Life Stone Socket to place a Green Life Stone in it top open a secret area to the west, in which you'll note a slowly flashing star on your compass. It's the first of half a dozen secret areas all clustered to the south and southeast of this area.

Head west down the upper pathway and turn the corner and head north, then enter the newly opened room and get three Yellow Sight Stones from the pile. Leave the room and continue north down the upper corridor, then turn east and proceed down the stairway to lower section of the room. Place a Yellow Sight Stone in the Yellow Sight Stone Socket to open a secret area in the southwest corner of the upper area.

Enter this room and place a Green Life Stone in the Green Life Stone Socket and a Yellow Sight Stone in the Yellow Sight Stone Socket to open a doorway into another secret area to the south of this room as well as a room to the east.

Leave this room for now and enter the room to the east and pick up three Red Blindness Stones from the pile, plus there may or may not be some gold in the crate. Return to the secret area to the west and the south into the one behind it. Place a Red Blindness Stone in the Red Blindness Stone Socket to the northwest to open up a secret area to the north.

However return to the south side of this room and place a second Red Blindness Stone in the Red Blindness Stone Socket at the south end of the room to open another secret area to the south.

Enter it and take three Purple Death Stones from the pile. Return to the previous room and now enter the previously newly opened secret area to the north. Place a Purple Death Stone in the Purple Death Stone Socket to open another secret area to the north.

Enter the final secret area and collect the treasure from the Big chest plus two other smaller chests and a weapon barrel, plus the Chant of Scholars from the stand. Teleport back to Eirulan from there using a Summon Teleporter spell.

Head north from the Eirulan teleporter to the next tramway, which takes your party to the Inn. Board the tram and take it across to the other side. Approach the Inn, then enter and again speak with the Grizzled Bar Patron. Your character will mention that they didn't find much of interest there, but the Grizzled Bar Patron exclaims that as your party went to a lot of trouble on his behalf in researching the strange stone, that he found there, and he gives them some treasure in addition to what they'd already found and that completes this quest.
