Once your party has acquired the Chant of the Dead by completing the Act II secondary quest A Dark Ohm, head east from the Aman'lu teleporter and go down the ramp and across the path to the Pet Shop. Head northeast toward the house in the mist. Enter and speak to Eolanda and agree to find the three pieces of Arinth's staff in three Ancient Elven Reliquaries, where they're guarded by spirits.

Teleport from Eirulan to the Western Cliffs of Azunai and proceed east, then turn south toward entrance to the caverns. Enter and head south up the first small hill. Move forward, then turn and head up the hill to the east. Continue southeast, then southwest toward the entrance to the ruins. Enter, then turn south and head up the curving stairway. Turn east at the top of the stairs and head up the next stairway and open the door to the Incantation Shrine. Enter it and chant the Chant of the Dead, then turn around and go back down the stairs and activate the hidden button on the right side (facing the steps) of the bottom step. Take the elevator down to the Ancient Elven Reliquary. Head south over the ramp and speak to the Guardian of the Staff to obtain the Focusing Stone from the now openable Big chest.

Teleport from Aman'lu to the Snowbrook Valley Teleporter. Follow the path west from the teleporter for quite some distance until they encounter a bridge across a chasm. After crossing the bridge, head north along the cliff above the river, and locate the hidden rock stairway descending toward the river. However head west to the Incantation Shrine and chant the Chant of the Dead, then return east and go down the stone stairway, then move north toward the elevator, which is next to the river. Activate the switch to ride the elevator down into An Ancient Elven Reliquary. Head north over the ramp and speak to the Guardian of the Staff to obtain the Jeweled Shaft from the now openable Big chest.

Teleport from Aman'lu to the Elen'lu Isles teleporter in the Northern Vai'lutra Forest. Follow the path southwest toward the Town of Aman'lu and remain on the path until they reach the bridege. Once they cross the bridge, continue following the path to the south until they encounter the Incantation Shrine. Chant the Chant of the Dead, then return north along the path to the bridge. Leave the path just before again reaching the bridge and head west a short distance. Head north a short distance with the ledge on their right until they come up against a mountain wall. Turn east and head along the mountain wall until they reach the cliff. Head down the grassy knoll until they reach the bottom. Turn northwest and head through the narrow pass and continue forward into an open grassy glade, where they'll encounter the second circular elevator, with a switch just to the east of it. Activate the switch and ride the elevator down to the Ancient Elven Reliquary. Head south over the ramp and speak to the Guardian of the Staff to obtain the Carved Rod from the now openable Big chest.

Once your party has obtained the three requisite pieces of the rod, teleport back to Aman'lu, head east from the Aman'lu teleporter and go down the ramp and across the path to the Pet Shop. Head northeast toward the house in the mist. Enter and again speak to Eolanda. She'll note that because the staff exists, so does the aged Arinth the Mad, and that the two should not get together. She'll then give your party the completed legendary staff of Arinth, plus a rare item (e.g. Rare Chakram, Rare Exceptional Silver Ring, Rare Plate Helm, etc.), which finishes this quest. Note that the staff is required for the related Arinth the Mad Secondary Quest.
